Student Employment Information

1. Sixty percent (60%) of the student employee's gross wages will be applied to the student's account. When the account is paid in full, it is the responsibility of the student to request the transfer of funds to be stopped. If you would like to opt-out of this policy, please contact the Business Office.

2. For services performed as a student employee of Maranatha, the IRS provides an exemption from FICA taxes. If the student employee maintains a half tuition load (6 undergraduate hours or 4 graduate hours), the student's wages are exempt from FICA withholding for work performed during the semester in which the student employee is enrolled.

3. If the student is expelled from the student body for infractions of the Student Life Handbook, the student's employment will be terminated immediately.

4. Routine background checks will be conducted for all student employees working with minors.

5. Employees are required to enroll in direct deposit of their wages.
